Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, live at D11
Sheryl Sandberg has served as the chief operating officer of the world's most popular social network since 2008, and today she's taking the stage at D11 here in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She's kicking off a day of high-profile interviews just hours after Apple CEO Tim Cook got things started last night, and we're expecting her to be grilled on all manners of things -- the company's stock price, the future of mobile advertising, the success (or failure) of Facebook Home, international growth and how many Likes this here liveblog will receive. Acer Iconia B1-710 tablet swings by the FCC

Acer Iconia B1710 tablet swings past the FCC
Back when Acer unveiled the Iconia A1 tablet, it slipped out an upgrade to its starter Iconia B1 series, the B1-710. That refresh has at last surfaced in the US -- through the FCC, anyway. The 7-inch, WiFi-toting slate has cleared the FCC's approval process with its subtle design tweaks and doubled 1GB of RAM in tow. Unfortunately, Americans aren't much closer to actually buying one. While Canadians may get a turn when we've spotted a (currently unconfirmed) $230 Acer Canada listing, the new B1 is primarily bound for Europe. It should cost £110 / €129 (about $166) for the WiFi model's June release, and £129 / €179 (between $195 and $230) for a 3G-equipped B1-711 edition arriving in July.

Skype links to Lync, for some serious Microsoft synergy

Image
As predicted, Microsoft is taking advantage of a little cross-platform action, connecting up Skype with its business-minded communication service, Lync. The connection brings together "the enterprise richness of Lync and the global reach of Skype," according to the company, letting users sign into Skype with their Microsoft account on Windows or Mac or merge their contact lists together on the popular VoIP service. At present, you can use instant messaging or audio calling, with more features -- including video calling -- coming later. You can check out a detailed version of the sign-in process by clicking on the source link below.

Dell's S2240T touch monitor boasts 21.5-inch full HD panel, 60-degree tilt

EDIT Dell launches S2240T A 215inch full HD touch monitor
Dell may already have a 23-inch multi-touch display, but if you're looking for something a little smaller and cheaper, then we have good news for you. The company informed us of its new model named "S2240T," a 21.5-inch touch monitor with the same 1,920 x 1,080 resolution as its larger sibling. It also stands on a sliding base that can tilt as much as 60 degrees, but unlike the other model this one can't lay flat. Other features include HDMI, DVI and VGA ports, as well as a relatively efficient power consumption of just 20W. Dell's already offering the S2240T on its website for $399.99 -- quite a drop from the S2340T's $699.99 price tag. Hit the source link for more information.
