The upgrade will set you back £3.99 per month and is part of the company's attempts at testing business models that don't involve Ant or Dec. The Cowell-factory is also boasting that the iOS edition of the app has been downloaded more than seven million times, a tribute to the enduring popularity of Downton Abbey.
